About Anne Ziff

Anne Ziff, M.S., M.A., is a New York and Connecticut-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with private practices in Manhattan and in Westport CT; she is an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor and clinical member. An Assistant Professor, Dept of Psychiatry, Mt Sinai School of Medicine, New York, she teaches and supervises residents in Marriage and Family Therapy theory and practice.  Ziff is certified as an Understanding-based Mediator and as an Advanced Interdisciplinary Collaborative  Divorce Mental Health Worker by the CT Council for Divorce Mediation and Family Dispute Resolution, and certified in Object Relations by the Washington School of Psychiatry. She is also a certified Group Psychotherapist.  Her book, "Marrying Well: the Clinician's Guide to Premarital Counseling," will be published by Norton in late 2009.

Participant in a delegation of senior American marriage and family therapists visiting the People's Republic of China to engage in bilateral exchanges with professional counterparts in Beijing, Guilin, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, under the auspices of People to People Ambassador Program in conjunction with Beijing Normal University.

Representative for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy in meetings of the National Inter-Disciplinary Conference of Attorneys and Mental Health practitioners, a committee of the Academy for Matrimonial Attorneys. Served as mental health co-chair for two years.

Founding  chairperson of CT Association for Marriage and Family Therapy's "Take a Lawyer to Lunch" committee, dedicated to increasing communication and understanding between attorneys and therapists, to provide mutual respect, and ultimately reduce the acrimony between spouses involved in divorce proceedings in order to benefit the children of these families.
